  • Thursday, May 2, 2024 National Day of Prayer for 2024The National Day of Prayer is an annual day of observance designated by the United States Congress and held on the first Thursday of May, when people are asked "to turn to God in prayer and meditation". 

    We can never pray enough! We know that prayer changes things, and God is able to do exceeding abundantly, above all we can ask or think....! (Ephesians 3:20). Please see the attached link regarding National Prayer Day and local events.

  • 4th Thursdays, through June 2024 (7:30 pm - 9:00 pm); The From Time to Eternity:  Death  Cafe' will be held. The Cafe' is a space for people to discuss death and dying without agenda, objectives, or themes. Discussions will be led by Rev. Roberta Sonsaray White, M.Div, and a trained Death DoulaRemaining Sessions:  May 5/23; June 6/27

      Saturday, May 4th, 2024 (9:00 am - 2:00 pm) - Strategies to Elevate People DC (Step DC) will have a Generations Initiative Conference; purpose - to build relationships, bridges, and community. This event is being held at Hughes and is free of charge. Registration is required for planning purposes.  Breakfast and Lunch will be served. Please share the event with family and friends. Roberta Sonsary White will be ordained at the 240th Session of the Baltimore-Washington Conference on Friday, May 31st, Hilton Hotel, 401 West Pratt Street, Baltimore, MD, Ballrooom, 2:00 - 4:00 pm.       • Wednesday, May 29th - Friday, May 31st, 2024 - BWC Conference -240th Session
      "Clergy and lay members will gather in holy conferencing at the 240th session of the Baltimore-Washington Conference on Wednesday, May 29th thru Friday, May 31, 2024 at the Hilton Hotel, 401 West Pratt St. in Baltimore, MD."  The theme of the conference with Bishop Easterling persiding is “Like Fire Shut Up in Our Bones,” inspired by Jeremiah 20:9. The guiding Scripture passage for the Annual Conference session is Romans 12:1, 9-12.

      Community Information

      Inclement Weather Policy: We will follow the local school system's inclement weather policy during weekdays. So, if D.C. Public Schools are closed, the church is closed. During the weekend, the voicemail greeting will indicate that "we are closed" if the church is closed. We will also post the closing on our Facebook page and the church website, and an email will also be sent. So, be safe and always exercise caution while traveling.


      Food Pantry: Donations of non-perishable food items will be appreciated for our Food Pantry. You may place non-perishable food donations in the designated church lobby bin on Sunday mornings or Tuesdays through Fridays between 1:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. Please call the Church before coming.
